Choose the frame and glazing as a complete system. The finish palette, hardware and glass options vary by model and application.
Start with the opening purpose: a daily entry, a patio connection or a wall that opens for entertaining. Record the finished floor heights, the direction of travel and the space available for panels and hardware.
Start with material and operation
Available systems include different systems in aluminum, steel, stainless steel, architectural bronze, solid wood and wood-clad constructions. The available material depends on the selected operation; a material shown in the general catalog is not an option for every model.
Evaluate thermal requirements
A thermal break separates conductive portions of a metal frame. Whole-system energy performance also depends on the glass, spacer, size and configuration. Use the model documents and project energy requirements together when comparing alternatives.
Review actual finish samples
Screen colors are illustrative. Compare physical finish samples in the project’s lighting before approval, and confirm the finish system recommended for the exposure and maintenance conditions. Hardware colors may have a different selection from the frame finish.
Specify the glazing package
Record safety glazing, impact requirements, energy criteria, tint, privacy and divided-lite preferences. Confirm the exact glazing build-up in the quote and drawings. Changing glass can change weight, dimensions, energy ratings and eligibility under an approval.
Keep finish decisions with the opening
Use the same opening ID on the approved color, glazing and hardware schedule. Where doors and windows are adjacent, compare frame depth, visible sightlines, finish sheen and hardware before expecting a matched appearance.

Compare finish systems before choosing a color
Powder coating and anodized finishes are separate finish choices. A clear anodized-effect or black anodized-effect powder-coat color is not the same specification as an anodized finish. Confirm the finish type along with the color name.
Review the standard powder-coat palette
The architectural range includes Tech White, Clear Anodized Effect, Dark Bronze, Matte Black and Black Anodized Effect. Additional premium and custom colors may be available for the selected model. Review physical samples before approval because screens and lighting change how a finish appears.
